A well-known seaside resort, Senigallia is located 1,250 km from Sens.
In the heart of the Italian Marches region, Senigallia is renowned for its white, sandy beach, the Spiaggia di velluto (the “velvet beach”), and for its remains from past centuries - the Rocca Roverseca and the Palazzo e la Fontana del Duca, amongst other attractions.

Apart from the town itself, there are some fine inland walks to Urbino, Gubbio, Jesi, Ravenna and Frassassi for tourists to visit or just potter around. Its population of 40,000 increases to 100,000 during the summer season. Twinned with Sens since 24 October 1981, Senigallia has also formalised its exchanges with Lörrach (1986) and Chester (2002).
